I give a lot of credit to Mystery. The man definitely made some MAJOR contributions to the growth of the pick-up artist community and having seen him in the field (with Julian) I know that he is a solid pick-up artist as well. If I had a complaint, it would be this:
Mystery and his whole inner entourage were doing more magic tricks than pick-up...
I saw all sorts of impressive shit...
Quarters disappearing
Mystery floating in the air
Handkerchiefs changing colors
Flowers appearing out of tophats
These guys were good. Especially Mystery... And it gradually dawned on me that magic was a HUGE part of their game.
I'm not exaggerating here, every group of girls they walked up to got to see something vanish or explode.
So I began to wonder, was there any magic being taught to the guys on Vh1's 'The Pick-up Artist?'
Not that I could remember. I even asked some fellow pick-up artists who had taken bootcamps with Mystery if magic had been part of the seminar...
Nope.
It was then that I understood that the mystery method (or venusian arts) that is being taught is not necessarily what is being practiced by its own creator.
Food for thought.
